Pic on Flickr by Gemma Wiseman ~ Posts by the roadside at Red Hill, Mornington Peninsula

Somehow
I don’t want to know the real story
Of why these posts exist ~
I like to read them as they are ~
What they seem to represent
What they seem to say
~
They gather
Like a corroboree
Of spirits ~
Ancient spirits maybe
Living silently
In the Dreamtime
Of now
~
Blue for the waters of the bay
Far below
~
Raw wood
For nature ~
Undressed beauty
~
And then
Three posts
Symbolising elements
Of the human spirit
~
An ochred
Earthy post
Swirling in hints of white
Ceremonial
Light
~
A post boldly coloured
In dancing rings
Of celebration ~
Like a maypole
Of ribboned
Laughter
~
And a post
Of
Handprints
A sign of touch
A sign of being
~
Together
Beneath the boughs
Of sighing greens
They seem to be
Foundations
For another
Life
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ This could almost be a painting. There was a hint of mist and storm on a late winter’s afternoon. The pic was taken looking over vineyards at Red Hill, Mornington Peninsula.
~

Failing light
Falls into mystical
Pale
Nettings
Capturing
Bursts of
Aging
Autumn
Colours
~
But the rich green
Of hilly furls ~
Youth of the spirit ~
Vibrantly
Lives on
