Toy Library

Pic on Flickr by Gemma Wiseman ~ Toy library, just off Main Street, Mornington.
~

Tucked away
From the mainstream
Of shopaholics
Such a cute little old building
Dressed in a new coat of
Paint ~
And blessed with a touch
Of purple beauty ~
A gift of nature
~
The idea seemed
A little different
To me ~
I have never known
A toy library ~
Such a lovely concept
Offering the right to play
To any child
~
And yet
I feel
A rising sense of
Discomfort
Maybe even
Anger
That in our
Progressive world
Some cannot freely access
The child within
And need
To borrow playtime ~
Keeping in mind
It must be given
Back

Sacred Archway

Pic on Flickr by Gemma Wiseman ~ Early morning view of entrance to Mornington park. This park is just at the end of Main Street shopping area. It overlooks Port Phillip Bay.
~

An arched entrance
Always seems like
A sacred invitation ~
If you bring baggage
Put it down awhiles
If you bring tangled sadness
Let it drift
Ballooning
On breeze currents
In the clouds
~
But viewing the entrance
From the other side
Always drenches
The return
In whitening
New light
~
